Summary of Opportunity
The Department of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for a faculty position in the Section of Infectious Diseases. Successful candidates must be fellowship trained in Infectious Diseases.
The Section of Infectious Diseases at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is dedicated to the highest ideals of teaching, clinical care and advancement of the science of Infectious Diseases. The nine faculty members and six fellows see patients at Temple University Hospital, Fox Chase Cancer Center-Temple University Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Center and in various clinics on the Temple campus. The Section has broad expertise in all aspects of Infectious Diseases including HIV care and infectious complications of transplantation.
Clinical responsibilities include inpatient ID consultations, transplant ID and oncology ID and outpatient duties include ID clinic. Candidate will be engaged with antibiotic stewardship and infection control and for working with the hospital to optimize antibiotic prescribing. In addition to teaching Infectious Diseases in the hospital, there will be some teaching of preclinical students. It is preferred that candidates have a strong interest in infectious control.
