The Department of Clinical Sciences at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM), Temple University invites applications for a faculty position as Assistant Dean for Clinical Informatics. We seek exceptional candidates with high quality informatics expertise and specific experience in leveraging electronic health data for translational research purposes. The marginalized, urban community served by Temple clinicians offers a rich source of data to support focused health disparities research and population health improvement. Our advanced information system environment includes: inpatient and outpatient electronic health records using EPIC; data warehousing platforms; and a variety of enterprise research information systems. As Assistant Dean for Clinical Informatics the incumbent will be responsible for executing a strategic plan for informatics and serve as the lead informatician for major clinical research projects. Successful candidates will provide institutional leadership through educational programs, peer-reviewed publications, externally-funded research, and patient care (if appropriate).
Requirements: Successful applicants will possess an MD and/or PhD degree in a related discipline. The level of academic appointment will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals who desire to play a formative role in the development of an informatics program in biomedical informatics at an academic medical center serving a large diverse patient population with significant health disparities.
