The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is seeking qualified candidates and candidate nominations for a full time faculty position in Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry.
The Consultation and Liaison (C/L) position is for a full time psychiatrist with interest in academic medicine. The C/L service provides psychiatric consultation and follow-up at Jeanes Hospital and Temple University Hospital and the selected physician will spend the majority of their time at Jeanes Hospital. Attending faculty will supervise and teach residents and medical students who will be rotating at Jeanes. Faculty are also responsible for evaluating and treating patients that have behavioral complications from medical illness, complications from medications, psychiatric disorders that are co-morbid with medical conditions, and medical complications of different psychiatric disorders. If desired, the attending can expand the time spent in the outpatient program. The faculty attending will take weekend call and work up consults on the weekend. This call averages two to four times a year.
Qualified candidate will be an M.D. or .D.O. with bc/be in Psychiatry and have completed a fellowship in c/l psychiatry. Candidates in their last year of fellowship training are welcome to apply. Ability to maintain medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to start is also required.
The position involves supervising residents and medical students. Rank and salary commensurate with experience.
