The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM), a nationally renowned, top-tier medical institution invites applications and nominations for the position of Division Chief, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Reporting to the Chair of Surgery, the Division Chief will promote a strong culture of institutional stewardship and collaboration throughout one of the region’s top academic health systems, Temple Health. The Department of Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University has approximately 48 full-time clinical faculty members in eight Divisions. The Department provides the highest quality, most compassionate care to its patients, utilizing state-of-the-art and minimally invasive technologies and techniques to achieve successful surgical outcomes.
Currently, the Division of Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery consists of 3 full time clinical faculty members. The Division offers a full spectrum of cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery including surgery. In addition the Division currently includes an accredited plastic surgery fellowship with six fellows.
Successful candidates will possess an M.D. with active certification by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is required and credentials that will support a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor are strongly preferred. Candidates with additional pertinent degrees (Ph.D., M.B.A., and M.P.H.) and fellowship training are encouraged to apply. The Assistant Professor within Cardiovascular Surgery and Research division, under the Department of Surgery will direct and conduct all aspects of research associated with related projects. This includes designing the protocols, conducting the experiments, analyzing the data, writing the abstracts and papers, and participating in grant writing and applications. Faculty, in addition to participating in the preparation of proposals for funded research, will assist all aspects of research, whether basic science or in the lab or clinical trials, and will be directing medical students, technicians, research residents and fellows, post-doc, RNs, where applicable. Perform other duties as assigned.
Research Faculty will need to have experiences both in cardiology, cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant related activities such as in heart failure surgical animal models, left ventricular assist device experiences, cardiomyoplasty experiences, heart failure and hypertension related telemedicine experiences, cardiovascular clinical trials experiences in device related studies, lung transplantation clinical research experienced with EVLP studies related with XVIVO and TransMedics Inc studies. Research Faculty will have to do regulatory works related activities such as IRB, and IACUC experiences, teaching medical students, submitting abstracts, manuscripts and grants to the appropriate organization. Faculty is expected to submit grants, work on arranging CME meetings, both locally, and regionally, and other related activities for the cardiovascular surgery division under the surgery department.
Required Education and Experience:
Ph.D.'s degree in a related field and an additional Medical degree (MD or MBBS) preferred along with PhD degree. At least several years of directly related experiences described above are required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Position Overview

The Vice Chair for Education will oversee the development of fellowship programs, support residency program, and departmental administrative needs across hospital, clinic sites while building a robust clinical practice.
The Vice Chair for Education will assist the Chair of the Department of PM&R in the following:
- Evaluate performance of course directors
- Ensure that all student grades are submitted in a timely fashion
- Discuss individual teaching faculty with program/course directors to identify outstanding performance as well as performance that needs to be improved
- Evaluate CME programs for faculty (Grand Rounds and other teaching conferences) as well as possible outside programs
- Create an active learning environment for all students
Furthermore, the Vice Chair for Education ensures effective, efficient, and cost-effective use of educational resources in order to maintain a productive environment for learning. S/he will provide direction to hold accountable, develop and evaluate staff in their performance of educational goals and objectives of the Department of PM&R. The Vice Chair for Education regularly evaluates the effectiveness of the Department’s educational organization and assists the Chair of the Department of PM&R in implementing changes as necessary to promote strategic and operational effectiveness based on appropriate performance metrics. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to mentoring and teaching residents and medical students, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a record of interdisciplinary collaborations, and have the desire to be integrally involved in enhancing quality of patient care. Clinical responsibilities for this position include conducting PM&R consults at Temple University Hospital (TUH), and evaluating and treating patients in PM&R outpatient clinics. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in providing outstanding clinical care, quality and service to patients and referring providers.

The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, announces the search for a BC/BE Interventional Radiologist to become a part of our Faculty.
The selected individual will join a vibrant faculty of 6 established, academic, full time IR physicians and two full time IR physician extenders who cover three separate sites including Temple University Hospital, Fox Chase Cancer Center and Jeanes Hospital.
The IR division has extensive expertise performing more than 8000 procedures annually. Each individual IR faculty have varying areas of clinical focus and research. Academic opportunities exist and are encouraged for successful candidates with interest in publication and research.
This position is 100% IR and the successful candidate would be part of a rotating busy and thriving clinical practice performing a wide range of procedures including interventional oncology, pain management, uterine artery embolization, GI/GU intervention, TIPS, venous access, peripheral vascular disease and CT/US guided biopsy, drainages and ablation treatments. The IR division also has an active inpatient admitting service and growing outpatient clinic and consult service.
Lewis Katz School of Medicine also offers a five-year Integrated Interventional Radiology residency program beginning at the PGY-2 level.

Academic Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is currently seeking BC/BE anesthesiologists with subspecialty training in anesthesia for cardiothoracic surgery for full-time faculty positions within the Temple Health System.
The anesthesiology department delivers care to patients in a variety of locations throughout the healthcare system including service at Temple University Hospital, Fox Chase Cancer Center and CT Anesthesiology at Jeanes Hospital.
The cardiac surgical service encompasses both the main Temple University Hospital campus as well as a secondary surgical site at Jeanes Hospital. In addition to traditional revascularization and open valve surgery, a significant number of patients are treated each year with percutaneous valve placements, endovascular stent procedures, pulmonary thromboendarterectomies, VAD placements, total artificial heart support, and heart and / or lung transplantation. Currently Temple is one of the busiest lung transplant centers in the northeastern United States completing roughly 120 transplants per year. A similar number of patients are treated annually with ECMO for either surgical or medical indications.
Duties of new faculty will include patient care, teaching of medical students and residents, and supervision of CRNAs. Opportunities for scholarly effort and clinical research are available and participation in the academic mission of the department is required. Rank is commensurate with experience

Temple University School of Medicine (TUSM), Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive announces the search for a MFM physician to join the section.
The selected individual will be a member of a clinical team of perinatologists who serve as consultants for all high risk obstetrical patients within the Temple University Health System and will conduct non-invasive and invasive fetal evaluations and studies. In addition, the selected individual will have an active clinical practice as well as having teaching responsibilities to medical students and residents (21 residents in PGY I, II, III and IV). Research and mentorship are part of this position.
The Division of Obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine is one of five clinical divisions including General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Women’s Pelvic Health Program, Reproductive Endocrinology and Gynecologic Oncology. There are approximately 30 MDs or MD/PhDs in the department plus supporting administrative, nursing and research staff.
Qualified candidates will have completed a Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship and obtained Board Certification in OB/GYN and MFM. Active candidates for board certification(s) will also be considered. Candidates must have a strong interest in working in an Academic environment. The selected individual must also have the ability to obtain a license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Department of Neurology is currently accepting CVs for a neurocritical care/stroke neurology faculty position at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM). We are particularly interested in candidates who have completed or are in the process of completing an ACGME accredited fellowship in neurocritical care and have a strong interest in contributing to the clinical, educational and research spheres.
The applicant would be joining a group of 3 Neurocritical Care faculty within the Department of Neurology and would be responsible for overseeing neurology and neurosurgery residents in our Neuroscience Intensive care unit. We have a 20 – bed Neuroscience Critical Care unit caring for both neurological and neurosurgical patients. We see mainly Neurovascular, Trauma, Tumors, Complex Spine, and Neuromuscular Disorders. The Temple University Stroke program is a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center. The Stroke Service sees 800-1000 cerebrovascular related admissions per year. Our program includes 2 neuro interventional faculty and works closely with the Department of Neurosurgery. The program participates in the Get With The Guidelines Stroke Program and has consistently achieved Gold Plus and Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite status. We have an active program of clinical trials though our affiliation with STOKENET (NIH funded). In addition we have a formal stroke prevention clinic which uses evidenced based guidelines for risk factor modification. We have a Telestroke/Telemedicine network for both acute stroke consults to neighboring community and rural hospitals.

The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM), Section of Rheumatology announces the search for an academically oriented rheumatologist to join our section in the Department of Medicine. The faculty physician is expected to contribute to teaching Rheumatology to fellows, residents and Medical Students by taking part in educational activities, to take part in ongoing clinical research projects, and to care for Rheumatology patients.
Currently, the Rheumatology Section consists of nine faculty members and two Nurse Practitioners. The Rheumatology Clinic cares for a diverse patient population with a wide range of rheumatic diseases, including large numbers of patients with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. The Section of Rheumatology provides specialized care in the form of weekly dedicated Lupus and Vasculitis Clinic. The Section also provide a biweekly CTD-associated Interstitial Lung Disease clinic and monthly Lupus Nephritis Clinic, in collaboration with the Temple Lung Center and the Section of Nephrology respectively. Patients are seen in three different locations, Temple University Hospital, Fort Washington and Center City Philadelphia. Several ongoing lupus basic, translational and clinical research projects are underway including clinical trials with the availability of a Clinical Coordinator. A centralized onsite Infusion Center facilitates administration of biological and other intravenous therapy and also benefits clinical research. The Section is also responsible for inpatient consultations in Rheumatology at Temple University Hospital.
The Section’s laboratory effort is focused on systemic autoimmunity. State-of-the-art laboratories are located in the Kresge Hall. Section scientists work side by side with scientists from related disciplines in the Temple Autoimmunity Center, a collaborative group of translational researchers sharing an interest in autoimmunity.
The successful candidate will possess an MD, DO or foreign equivalent and have completed an ACGME accredited residency in internal medicine and ACGME fellowship training in Rheumatology is also required. Candidates currently completing their last year of Rheumatology fellowship will also be considered and are welcome to apply. Rank and compensation commensurate with experience.

Summary of Opportunity
The Section of Hospital Medicine at Temple Health is seeking team-oriented Hospitalists at all experience levels to join its established program.
As a hospitalist at Temple Health, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and consultative and co-management services inpatient coverage at Temple University Hospital (TUH), a 746 bed tertiary and quaternary level acute care facility and the nearby Episcopal Campus of Temple, a smaller 21 bed unit. This position requires 12 hour shifts on both teaching and non-teaching service. Time spent between teaching and non-teaching service is flexible based on clinical/academic interest. Temple’s Hospitalist program includes mentorship for new faculty to set them up for success while on teaching service.
The Section of Hospital Medicine is now in its fifth year of providing quality and efficient clinical care to its patients and educational opportunities to Temple’s medical students and residents. The section continues to be on the forefront of utilization and patient safety initiatives.

There are five clinical divisions including General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology), Reproductive Endocrinology and Gynecologic Oncology. The department supports 21 residents.

Temple University School of Medicine, Section of Nephrology, announces the search for a Transplant Nephrologist to join the faculty.
Temple University Hospital’s Kidney Transplant Program was founded nearly 20 years ago and offers a full range of transplant services, including deceased and living kidney transplantation, as well as deceased pancreas and kidney-pancreas transplantation. Our multidisciplinary approach and the experience of our transplant team allow us to treat the most complex patients, including those with numerous co-morbidities. Our faculty includes experienced nephrologists and surgeons who work cohesively with an experienced support team consisting of transplant coordinators, nurse practitioners, a dedicated doctor of pharmacy, social worker and financial counselor.
This opportunity entails clinical practice in both outpatient and inpatient areas with involvement in the teaching and mentoring of Nephrology fellows, Internal Medicine residents and Temple University medical students and participation in departmental research.
The successful candidate will be board certified in Nephrology with strong interest in a career in an academic medicine and have the following credentials:
- An M.D., D.O or foreign equivalent with active board certification in Nephrology.
- Successful completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in nephrology.
- Successful completion of an accredited fellowship in transplant nephrology prior to start date.
- Experience in performing CT- and Ultrasound-guided transplant and native kidney biopsies
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to start date is also required.
